Motherhood is one of the complex roles for a lot of women especially working mums. This is because a lot of mothers shuffle with a lot of activities all of which are somewhat important. This leads to tiredness for a lot of mothers.
Our first advice to mums is that work especially work in your home really never ends so try not too overwork yourself with too much work. Do your best not too overload your day with too many activities especially when they are not too urgent.
We understand how difficult it can be which is why we decided to put together a few productivity hacks to make your life easier.
1. Spread out chores throughout a week
The first thing you should try your best to do is spread out your chores all through the week. You really can’t do everything in one day so this is really important. You can plan your menu for the week, your activities for each day and any other thing you can plan. The bottom line is to do one or two things a day and spread out the rest.
2. Ask for help
There is nothing wrong with asking for help. It is totally okay to outsource your tasks as often as is necessary. You can ask your spouse, your sibling or even your friends for help when you need it. It’s also absolutely fine to hire a nanny or a maid if you really need one. Whichever option you choose, the most important thing is to get all the help you need.
3. Teach your kids to do chores
As your kids get older, ensure you assign some chores to them according to their age bracket. Teach them early enough to be responsible for certain chores in the house. For smaller kids, you can teach them to put away their toys when they done playing. For your older kids, you can teach them to clean their room. The earlier you teach your kids to do certain chores, the better for you.
4. Make a schedule and stick to it
We understand that things could change very fast but it is still advisable to make a schedule so that you don’t forget to do certain things. You have a lot of things to handle all at once so making a schedule is one of the easiest ways to ensure that you do everything you need to do without leaving anything out.
5. Teach your kids about independent play.
We know how important it is to play with your kids but you should also teach them how to play on their own especially when you are busy. This will make them more creative and give you more time to handle other activities.
6. Allow for a bit of chaos
Dear mums, you really can’t be a super woman every time. We totally understand the frustration of tidying the kids bedroom and seeing it messed up again within a short time. It can be very frustrating to re-arrange every single time only for things to get scattered within a short time. This is why you should embrace the chaos and concentrate on other things.
7. Create opportunities to relax
A lot of mums work and work with little or no time to relax. It is important to intentionally create opportunities to relax because you deserve. You need to relax your body and your mind consistently so that you can remain sane. Watch a movie, listen to music, go out with friends and just find time to have some fun.
